Our museum staff and volunteers can assist interested persons with research related to the items in our artefact collection, archival holdings and reference library (see menu on the left). We can also assist with research related to an individual’s previous military service, medals, uniforms, war grave and burial information, etc.

For those requiring assistance in a research project, please contact us in advance with details of your request. We will consider your request and let you know what assistance we will be able to provide. You can contact us to make a research request or ask for further information by clicking on Research Request Form or contact us at info@lermuseum.org.

For those wishing to do their own research online, the following links may be helpful.

  • http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca This link takes you to the Library and Archives Canada site. If you follow the Genealogy and Family History or Military and Peacekeeping links, you will find military service files, which include documentation about enlistment, discharge, military units served with, medals awarded, etc., for individuals who have served in the Canadian Forces. These pages also have links to other research sites.
  • http://www.veterans.gc.ca This link takes you to the Veterans Affairs Canada site. Here, the Remembrance and Records & Collections links are useful in researching Orders, Medals and Decorations.
